MAC Equipment began operation in November, 2001 with a small shop in Troy, NY. In the early days, there were only two employees; Rob Miller, who handled all day-to-day business operations including being a mechanic and driver, and Andy Gawrys who was a one man sales team.
As the company grew, so did the MAC Equipment team and in 2006 Janice Miller came onboard to handle administrative and walk-in traffic. By 2009 she had taken over all financing needs and developed relationships with vendors and financial institutions. Over time, Janice took over all functions running the day-to-day, and Rob shifted to focus his efforts on equipment acquisition and overseeing the mechanics.
In 2012, after several years of running the day-to-day aspects of the business, Janice became majority owner of MAC Equipment, and shortly thereafter MAC Equipment became the only certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) in the State of New York in the aerial equipment rental industry. Today MAC Equipment is certified in New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont as well as being certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).
Today, thanks to our talented team, and dedication to our business and customers, we’ve grown rapidly and now cover the entire states of New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, as well as parts of Connecticut, and New Jersey. Our sales team, mechanics, and drivers are second to none and everyone in the company is driven to make each customer know how valued they are.
